Recommendations for the Meta Expires Tag
Are you wondering why you should use a Meta Expires tag and why it can be helpful for you? Have you not even heard about a Meta Expires tag before? Well, you’re not alone.
It is recommended to actually not use the Meta Expires tag. There is NO possible way to get Google to stop caching your site, unless you close it or block the GoogleBot completely. No matter what, even if you include the Meta Expires tag, Google will cache the page.
Search Engines actually ignore the Meta Expires tag, which boggles my mind as to why people still use it to get search engines to stop caching your pages. Yes, it is great to use when you want a document or page to stop being in the search engines, but thats it. It will not work WHAT SO EVER to have your pages stopped from being cached.
Want more information on the Meta Expires tag? So do I, so go to this Meta Expires page for further information:

On this page it will actually tell you how you can get Google to stop caching your pages and give you the proper HTML coding needed to do so. I use Web Marketing Now literally every single day to help me out with any information I may need about Google, Yahoo!, and MSN or any other website information that I might be stuck with. Hopefully it can help you out too.
